Personality Factors in second language acquisition.
As we can see in the image there are several concepts that influence on personality and Self-esteem.
One of the concepts that is more global and covers the agents that are considered in personality and self-esteem is the affective domain, this refers to emotions or feelings of people, so in this subject those actors are very important at the moment of second language acquisition because they can make it more difficult or easier to his development.
Benjamin Bloom and his colleagues postulate that the affectivity process begins with receiving, this means that people must be aware of the environment surrounding them, be willing to receive and don't avoid it, so they must react by responding. This is the level when people actively participate and interact with the new information, so when they are ready with this they can go on with third level of affectivity that is called value. As the name says it is stated as a kind of appreciation of a behavior or a person, so after this people must know how to organize all what they have obtained and here is when organization comes up. This is concerned with fitting the new information into an existing schema and decide how it will make sense for them, finally characterization is what makes the new information part of their schema and exhibit the new behavior, attitude or belief.

Self-Esteem
Personality development involves the growth of a person's concept of self, acceptance of self, and reflection of self as seen in the interaction between self and others, because of this the cognitive or affective processes can be easily affected by the degree of self-esteem or self-confidence. So what if students has a low self-esteem or don't rely on his faculties? The most possible scenario is that the learning process of the learners will be interrupted by this problem, and some of the concepts that are related with self-esteem will begin to take place while they are in classes or even when they are studying/training with their mates to improve some skills.

In the picture we can see some terms related with this problem, that are behaviors that students with low self-esteem have. Sometimes those attitudes or problems can attract you to situations that you don't want to occur.

As a conclusion, personality factors and self-esteem are very important subjects that we have to manage for our development as teachers, it doesn't stay on how the students feel, on the contrary it involves all their social life and how they cope into their environment, so as future formative influence of young people we must know what to do in those situations previously mentioned.

  1. I agree with your conclusion. Think about all the future situations that you will have to solve in the classroom with students feeling depressed or with a low level of self-esteem. Sometimes, a teacher may support a student in different ways, but it is also important to be clear with our professional limits because these psychological disorders are usually the result of some disfunctional family, tragic events in life or the personality structure which are complex issues to be guided by a specialist.
